hair salon prices

Juanita's use to be a great salon to go and get your hair done for between $25-$35 dollars. The prices were reasonable but have gone up tremendously. In my view, they are just like JC Penny Beauty Salon. They nickel and dime you for everything. There is a flat charge of $45.00 for a shampoo and hair set but then they charge you $10.00 extra for a deep conditioner. My hair was trimmed without my permission and I was charged another $10.00. I asked and wanted the vinegar treatment and I was told they were out of the treatment and that they did not know when they would have the solution again. I went into the salon thinking I was going to pay $90.00 for two shampoo/sets and left paying $132.00. I recommend that you pay for your services upfront to avoid what happen to me because I was shock and disappointed at the cost for the services I received.

Don't go

The atmosphere was nice and the staff were polite. I expected the same great results, however I was extremely disappointed. When a salon specializes in natural African American hair, I expect for the stylist to be well equipped and skilled. I expected to have my hair blowing in the wind as I walked out of the salon, but I could not even get my fingers through my hair. The task of straightening my hair should not have been too difficult, seeing as though I only have 2 inches of natural hair and the remainder is relaxed. In addition to my curly roots, I also have several very tender spots in my scalp from the various burns I received during the process of getting my hair done. Surprisingly, the price was very inexpensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.
